  • Develop community with other members across the country

We know you’re busy, so we scheduled these calls at a few different times during the week. They will last about an hour. Hope you can make it—we can’t wait to connect with you!

  • What to expect: This call will give all members a chance to hear from Supermajority Steering Committee member Maria Town! Did you miss a call you wanted to attend? Not to worry! There are recordings available for each member call, all with closed captioning.

5/7/19 – Call with Ai-jen Poo

Expect to learn about: how Ai-jen began organizing domestic workers, what it takes to fight for economic justice, and the culture-shifting power of storytelling and its undeniable role in creating the future we want to live in together.

5/11/19 – Call with Jess Morales Rocketto

Expect to learn about: the latest from the border, the power of online organizing and which tools really work, and the power of community to make lasting change.

5/18/19 – Call with Cecile Richards

Expect to learn about: why Supermajority is needed now, and how women can work together to combat policies and attitudes that directly affect the most vulnerable among us. You’ll also hear from Katie Glenn, a reproductive rights organizer on the ground in Alabama.

5/30/19 – Call with Alicia Garza

Expect to learn about: what it feels like to start a global movement on Twitter, what it’s going to take to build a multiracial movement, and how to write your truth (between turning in the first draft of her book(!) and her new gig as a columnist for Marie Claire magazine)

6/11/19 – Call with Katherine Grainger

Expect to learn about: lessons from the marriage equality fight and how to apply it towards building an intersectional movement for women’s equality, ways policy is an important tool towards advancing civil rights and where it falls short, and why your voice and activism is the most important way to transform this country.

8/21/19 – Supermajority Education Fund call with Ibram X. Kendi and Alicia Garza

Expect to learn about: HOW TO BE AN ANTIRACIST. In his book, Dr. Ibram X. Kendi takes readers on a radical reorientation of our consciousness as he identifies, names, and defines our ideas, behaviors—and most importantly, policies that are racist and antiracist. With this new vocabulary and insight, we can view the racist and antiracist effects on power, biology, ethnicity, culture, class, behavior, gender, space, sexuality, and more, with fresh eyes. This is a conversation not to be missed.

Supermajority Education Fund – House Party Training

Expect to learn about: The why, what, and how of successful house parties. After this training you’ll be able to facilitate a good conversation on what gender equity looks like in our country with a group of folks that come together. We hope you’ll feel, excited, prepared, and connected to one another & Supermajority. Note: This training focuses on hosting a house party to share the Women’s* Poll, however the fundamentals of hosting a house party are universally applicable.
