Washington, D.C. – In response to President Biden’s announcement, Supermajority Communications and Marketing Director Jess Herrera issued the following statement:
“President Biden’s re-election bid announcement reminds us that the 2024 election has begun. And as they did in 2022, young women will once again decide the future of our country.
“It’s a critical moment for all candidates to recognize that to win the next election, they must stand up for issues that are important to women — and the majority of people in our country — such as reproductive freedom, supporting care workers while expanding access to care, and sensible gun safety legislation.
“The millions of women across the country who helped elect President Biden into office are watching. They’re holding his administration accountable for advancing policies that will create a future where we’re all truly equal.
“We must keep building a multiracial, intergenerational community of women who believe in their collective power. Supermajority remains committed to mobilizing 400,000 young women voters so that when 2024 comes around, we’ll be ready to elect leaders who represent us.”
