NEW YORK, NY – Today, on the two year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, the landmark case that overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the constitutional right to abortion, Supermajority’s Executive Director Taylor Salditch issued the following statement:
“Two years ago today, the Supreme Court of the United States upended precedent and removed the federal right to abortion in Dobbs v. Jackson. That decision has become a rallying cry for women across the country. Because we know what power-hungry politicians are becoming more and more afraid of: Abortion is a mobilizing issue.
In the face of attacks on our reproductive freedom, we’ve seen what our collective power can do. Over the past two years, voters have made it clear that people all across the country support abortion access. From Kansas to California and from Michigan to Montana, women have defeated dangerous abortion bans and elected leaders committed to protecting our reproductive freedom.
This year, abortion is still on the line–not only in the Court, but on the ballot. Together, we have the power to hold our leaders accountable and create a future where our bodies, our lives, and our choices are truly respected. We’ve done it before, and in 2024, we will do it again. We will not stop organizing, and we will not stop voting, until full reproductive freedom is a reality for everyone in our country.”
