Detroit’s Next Mayor Starts With Women.
DETROIT — Supermajority, a national women’s equality organization, will host a 2025 Detroit Mayoral Forum on Saturday, April 26, bringing together a dynamic field of candidates and a powerful room of women voters and community members. The event is designed to educate, energize, and connect community leaders with Supermajority members ahead of Michigan’s August primary.
Confirmed participants include Councilwoman Mary Sheffield, Councilman Fred Durhal, Attorney Todd Perkins, Former Councilwoman Shaunteel Jenkins, James Craig, and Jonathan Barlow. The forum is hosted by Supermajority along with the African-American Leadership Institute and will be moderated by Supermajority staff and community volunteers, with questions grounded in the organization’s values-based agenda known as the Majority Rules.
This event is part of Supermajority’s long-term investment in organizing women—particularly women of color—as a political force in Michigan and beyond. The forum will highlight key issues facing Detroit communities and invite candidates to speak directly to the values and lived experiences of Supermajority’s membership. This is a member-only event. However, we welcome the public to join Supermajority’s efforts at the event. Membership is free.
